  • Click on “Notifications” and select “Desktop notifications” and also don’t forget to checkbox to play notification sounds

2. Allow Desktop Notifications In Google Chrome

Those who are using Chrome regularly for accessing Google calendar website, make sure to add the URL to get desktop notifications.

Follow the below steps to get it done.

  • Launch Google chrome web-browser and tap on the three-dot icon at the top-right
  • Next, go to “Settings” >> “Privacy and security”

  • Under this, you will see the “Site settings” option, hit on it

1. Restart Phone

A restart may be the solution, It fixes common app issues and boosts operating system performance, So it’s worth a try.

Of course, restarting won’t always fix the issue but sometimes it will.

2. Check In-App Notifications

Like always, It’s important to properly configure the app’s built-in notification settings.

  • For, that open Google calendar app, hit on three dash bars ( Menu-icon ) located  at the top- right corner
  • From here go to “Settings” ( represented by the gear icon )

  • Scroll down under “Notifications” section, you will see “Notify on this device” option, Make sure it is turned on. If not, then tap on the toggle button to enable the setting

3. Check Sleeping Apps

Samsung and many other smartphone brands give you an option to set “Always sleeping apps”.

This feature surely helps in saving battery life but one of its downsides is that it keeps an app inactive which means you won’t able to receive alerts and notifications.

  • Open “Settings” app on your  phone, Go to ” Device Care” >> “Battery” 

 

  • Tap on the three-dot icon at the top and navigate to “Settings”>>”Sleeping apps”

  • Here you will see a list of all the apps that won’t run in the background and are inactive
  • Check and confirm, If “ Google Calendar” is listed, Tap on ( Delete bin ) icon at the top, select the app and confirm the action by again clicking on ” Remove “. That’s it

4. Check Date And Time 

Many apps require synchronization with the server for proper functioning and thus it is important that your phone has the correct date and time.

To do this, follow the below guide.

  • Head over to the “Settings” of your device, scroll down and tap on “General Management
  • Next tap on ” Date and time
  • Now check and confirm that “Automatic date and time” is turned ON.

5. Keep App Up-To-Date

If your smartphone couldn’t send alerts and notifications, It may be due to bug or glitch. Thus you should update the calendar app and check if it fixes the error 

  • Launch the Google play store and hit on the three-line menu icon at the top-right corner 
  • You should now see the ” My apps and games” section 
  • Next, move over to the ” Installed ” section 
  • Here, find “Google calendar ” app, You should now notice the ” Update ” button in front of it ( if you don’t see this option then your app is updated and you don’t need to do anything )

6. Force Stop

Force stop can help you to fix the app when some of its features are not working. So definitely give it a try.

  • Open the Android settings menu and select “Apps and Notification”
  • Next, Go to ” All apps “
  • Scroll down the list and until you find the ” Google Calendar ” app 
  • Click on the “Force Stop” and tap “Ok” on the prompt. This will close the app
  • Simply, Relaunch the app, and check if you can now receive notifications.

7. Allow Background Data Usage

To provide real-time notifications many mobile apps generally use the data in the background, even when they are not actively used.

However, if the user restricts it from accessing the internet in the background then it might be responsible for the incorrect functioning of the application, so make sure to enable this setting.

  • Select “Cellular data usage
